Artisans at the Harbor Features Kim Moberg and Heather Swanson
Artisans at the Harbor (formerly the Falmouth Art Market) features musicians Kim Moberg and Heather Swanson on Thursday, July 17 from 1 to 3 PM. The arts and crafts market takes place every Thursday from 11 AM to 4 PM, through August 28, at Falmouth Marine Park, 180 Scranton Avenue, in Falmouth.
Artisans at the Harbor, now sponsored by ArtsFalmouth, Inc., features a wide array of handmade works by local artisans and craftspeople.
Award-winning singer/songwriter/guitarist Kim Moberg was born in Juneau, Alaska, to a mother of Alaskan Native Tlingit descent and father who was a US Cost Guard veteran from Kansas. A classical pianist and guitarist, Kim’s mother guided Kim’s lifelong love for a wide range of musical genres, from traditional and contemporary jazz to Broadway tunes and folk music. Her father, a country music fan, exposed her to legendary country music artists.

Kim’s sound reflects her eclectic musical upbringing. She began playing acoustic guitar at 14, but did not write her first song until two decades later. Since then, her career has thrived. Her rich vocals have been described as “a blend of honey and whiskey.” She gently guides listeners through her musical stories, expressing feelings of melancholy, heartbreak, healing, and social consciousness.
Kim had released four CDs: “Above Ground” (2017), “Up Around the Bend” (2020), “The Seven Fires Prophecy: Suite for Humanity” (2024), and “All that Really Matters” (2025. “The Seven Fires Prophecy” is an eight-song original suite that ties the ancient Anishinaabe prophecy to the current social environment, sharing what Kim has learned about indigenous teachings and the life lessons they offer.
Kim has performed with Heather Swanson for over eight years. Their folk/American sound smoothly blends Kim’s vocal melodies with Heather violin harmonies on both Kim’s original music and their chosen cover interpretations.
Heather Swanson is a classical violinist who crossed over to folk and traditional Celtic music. She has performed in pit orchestras, stage productions and symphony orchestras from the Boston area to Cape Cod. Heather attended Boston University and UMass/Lowell and is a music educator, specializing in the Suzuki Method.
Heather’s first CD “Beside Quiet Waters” (2019) is a collection of traditional and contemporary Celtic tunes recorded and produced by Grammy-nominated producer Jon Evans.
