The Falmouth Art Market features the vibraphone player Julian Loida and over 30 creative artists on Tuesday, July 23, 11 AM to 5 PM, at Falmouth Marine Park, 180 Scranton Avenue. In addition, there will be a Meet the Author booth, lunch from the Filling Station Food Truck, and ice cream from Sea Scoops. The event continues every Tuesday throughout the summer.

Julian Loida will perform folk, jazz, and classical music on the vibraphone from 2 to 4 PM. Praised as “one of the Boston music scene’s most valuable players,” he is a percussionist, composer, and producer with eclectic musical tastes who enjoys collaborating with dancers, visual artists, songwriters/composers, and musicians.
“My thirst to participate in and experience a range of sounds is partly due to my synesthesia,” said Loida. “Music is a full-body experience for me, with sounds often invoking involuntary sensations of color, texture, or even taste.”

In addition to playing vibraphone, Loida sings and plays electronics, piano, strings, and percussion. His album, “Giverny,” was released in May 2023.
The featured artist is Chloe Renouf, who makes semi-realistic lino cut prints of rabbits, fish, whales, bats, and other real and fanciful creatures in various sizes, key chains, tote bags, stickers, and painted clothing.

Her work is whimsical, fun, and intense, in a contemporary graphic art style she describes as less conceptual: using exaggerations of features and shape language, leaning toward a cartoonish approach. Her small works (about four by six inches) can be framed, used as postcards, notecards, or hung on the wall fridge. She also has unevenly cut images and some larger prints. Renouf specializes in “little moments of Cape Cod” that appeal to many.
Renouf has been enthusiastic about art since she was about 3 or 4 years old. In high school, she discovered different types of art from friends, teachers, and art classes, and went on to major in computer animation, 3D animation, and VFX (visual effects) in college and graduate school. She is looking toward working in video games and feature films.
Renouf enjoys the ArtMarket, not only as a place to sell her work, but also as a fun way to socialize, meet new people, and enjoy a summer day.

Bethany Eisenberg, author of Singing Beach Day, will be at the Meet the Author booth. Singing Beach Day is a colorful rhyming children’s book that celebrates diverse families and the magic of Singing Beach in Manchester-by-the-Sea. Profits from the book support education and the protection of indigenous land and culture in Guatemala.
