The Falmouth ArtMarket takes place on Tuesday, August 22, from noon to 6 PM, with live music, a Meet the Author booth, over 25 creative artists, and ice cream from Sea Scoops. The ArtMarket continues next Tuesday at Falmouth Marine Park, 180 Scranton Avenue.

The Country Flavored Band performs classic country songs by country legends such as George Jones, Marty Robbins, Hank Williams, and many others, ballads and “honky tonks,” including songs by The Mavericks, Johnny Cash, Wayne Hancock, and Bruce Springsteen, as well as folk songs with a country flavor. The band has been playing together since 2018 and has accumulated experience of more than 150 years.
Band members are Roger Rebeiro on vocals and rhythm/lead guitar, Frank Carotenuto on vocals and rhythm/lead guitar, and Ben Carnevale on pedal steel guitar.
The featured author is Terre Lamb Seeley, who illustrated the Little Black Dog series of children’s books based upon the story of the well-known Black Dog of Martha’s Vineyard. She also creates published calendars entitled “A Year in a Country House” which consists of paintings of the houses and gardens of the three Massachusetts properties she has lived on over the past 40 years. These paintings were also published as greeting cards by H. George Caspari and are available as prints. As a resident of Falmouth and the Berkshires she continues to show her work with her blog on her website, terrelambseeley.com.

ArtMarket features over two dozen artists and craftspeople. Among them is William Brown, owner of Pine Island Maker Studio. William makes small concrete planters for air plants and succulents and a wide array of technology-based art.
“I begin the planters by printing out plastic forms on a 3D printer, and then using the plastic forms to create original molds,” said Brown. “Then everything is cast in concrete. I make three sizes of a dozen different Pokémon caricature planters and two sizes of my own geometric designs.”
Brown has been making planters for eight years, starting with office, bathroom, and table-top organizers before specializing in planters. He sells them complete with air plants or succulents, both easy-to-care-for plants, and knots his own macrame hangers of cotton cord to hold the planters.
Brown is also involved in poster and brochure design, wood turning, metal working, merchandizing, and branding. He is one of the coordinators of the ArtMarket and a regular weekly vendor.
