Arts Alive Celebrates Local Artists and More on June 16, 17, and 18
Arts Alive, ArtsFalmouth’s annual arts festival, will be held June 16 to 18 with more than 35 performances under two tents on the Falmouth Library Lawn, 300 Main Street, and over 75 artisans and craftspeople offering their wares on Shore Street Extended and Peg Noonan Park. The event celebrates the arts, Juneteenth, Pride Month, and Father’s Day.
Arts Alive, which is sponsored by ArtsFalmouth, Inc., opens at 5 PM on Friday, June 16 with performances by Falmouth Academy music ensembles, followed by singer/songwriter Shannon Davis at 6 PM, and the Town Dance from 7 to 9 PM with the Moonlighters Big Band.
There will be a reenactment and celebration of Juneteenth Saturday morning at 10 AM, and a Tea Dance with DJ Kris Kay at 2 PM on Sunday to celebrate Pride Month. The Art Tent will feature Juneteenth, Pride Month, and Father’s Day activities. Children’s activities will include a Scavenger Hunt with prizes, art activities, lawn games, and chalk drawings.

Artisan, nonprofit, and food vendor tents are open from 10 AM to 6 PM on Saturday and 11 AM to 5 PM on Sunday in three locations: Peg Noonan Park, the Falmouth Library Lawn, and Shore Street Extended.

New to Arts Alive this year at ALR Designs with watercolor greeting cards and prints; Belonging Books, with books for children and adults about nonmajority populations on the Cape; Dice Goblin, offering handmade dice, bags, and accessories for tabletop gaming; Katco Creations, with ocean-themed apparel for women; Karen Teeley Creations with handmade wooden toys; and Carla Shaw Sustainable Fashion, gold jewelry made from plants.

Waquoit Bay Fish Company is also new this year, with realistic fish drawings, stickers, cards, prints, and apparel. Treeline Terrains offers wood topographic maps of the Cape, while Strong Roots Woodworking has cutting boards, serving trays, cribbage boards, and more. Nelson Jewelry has sterling silver and silver-and-gold jewelry, while CHART Metalworks has handmade jewelry and wood products.
Isabel Souza Studio offers wheel-thrown mugs, bowls, platters, vases, and ceramic jewelry. Little Cat Metals has ethical, hand-fabricated jewelry. Featherworks Studio has leather earrings, original art, stained glass, home décor, and more. The Snap Scarf has scarves and shawls.

Cape Cod Press has drawings, paintings, prints, and apparel, while RYetra Studio offers oil paintings, and Carlos Ponce paints in acrylics, using local sand, shells, and ocean water. Sandler Crafts has multimedia signs and wall hangings.
Annie’s Studio has centerpieces, jewelry, and original art, while Candles & More by Heather has soy, gel, and pie candles. Designs by Tara has canvas pillows, ornaments, tea towels, and wine bags. Misty’s Closet offers bows, ties, and bandanas for pets, while Harley’s Handmade has tumblers and keychains.

Returning Arts Alive vendors include many jewelry artists: LjBjewelry hand-fabricates sterling silver and mixed metal jewelry. House of Stone and Metal works with beach stones, creating Viking rune-inspired pieces and leather accessories. Cape Cod Octopus’s Garden creates silver and sea glass jewelry, and Carole’s Jewelry Design makes jewelry from quahog shells, sea glass, and resin.

Swing Lane Studio makes glass beads for its artisan jewelry, while My Creations has watches and necklaces adorned with sterling silver and precious stones. Scarabocchio Silversmiths create precious metal jewelry. Creativity by Lily will have handmade jewelry and accessories, while Spēks of Glass offers sea glass jewelry and décor items.

Betsy’s Heart has polymer clay jewelry, wall art and more. Unique Jewelry and Gifts also has jewelry, plus unusual plates with beaded serving pieces and more.

Anju Rajani will be selling her functional pottery; Eldridge Ceramics has hand-decorated pottery, and Denise Montoyo Pottery offers ceramic plates, platters, bowls, spoon rests and more.
Brown Bowl Company offers lathe-turned wooden bowls. Puzzled Jay Productions offers apparel, stickers, pins, banners and more. Pleasantwood Cottage Creations makes coiled fabric baskets, tote bags, and cell phone bags. Scott Cooper creates mixed-media art.
Melissa Oliveira of Bzzyfingers makes fabric items, including zippered pouches, notebooks, reusable snack bags, and wristlets. Nautical Creations specializes in items made of rope and cord, including wreaths, pet toys, plant hangers, and sailors’ bracelets. Ondine specializes in fiber arts, creating children’s sweaters, purses, and nautical creatures. Just Tickled will have girls’ hair bows, tutus, headbands, accessories.
Oscar Boxer Doggie Duds and Wellness sells pet products, including dog collars, bow ties and ties, bandanas, and carry bags. Cape Coop Farm Soap Shop will have soap and spa products and items made from alpaca wool. Cape Cod Henna offers henna body art, plus aroma therapy and bath products. Seapoint Trade body products, leather items, and rugs. BFF Kitchen will have dry rubs, spice mixes, finishing salts, and infused sugars.

Jen Kano Photography sells prints, notecards, and her photography books. Creative Canvas by Donna has epoxy art on canvas, and Cape Cod Artistry has stickers, paintings, and custom shirts. CChepeleff Photo Design offers original, award-winning seascapes. Justin Larocca Hansen has watercolors of landscapes, seascapes, and nautical creatures. Laura Edson Images/Cape Cod Carder will have photo cards and framed photos.

Gratitude Juice offers macrame wall hangings and plant hangers and ceramic mugs, pitchers, and more. Elias Studios makes blown glass hummingbird feeders, tumblers, ornaments, and more. Heavenly Light Crystal Creations has crystal suncatchers and keychains. Craft-Tine, offers handmade paper products: cards, gift boxes, and wreaths,
Cottage Accents, makes boat-shaped wooden window box planters and food servers. Shining Sea Farm Falmouth has hand-carved nautical designs: sharks, mermaids, whales, and more. EKL Designs Woodwork will have cutting boards, tea boxes, puzzle boxes, and more.
Pine Island Maker Studio has cement planters for small succulents and macrame hangers. Shoreline Designs has framed seascapes with local shells, sea glass, and sand. Petals and Seashells has ornaments, jars, suncatchers and more made with dried flowers in resin. The Silkworm Florist recycles found objects to make garden décor.

Nonprofit organizations include People for Cats, which will be selling cat-themed clothing and the Woods Hole Film Festival, which will offer film festival merchandise.


Other nonprofits will be found on the Library Lawn providing free information, including Calliope Poetry for Community, Cape Cod Cape Verdean Museum and Cultural Center, Cape Cod Pride, College Light Opera Company, Falmouth Chorale, Falmouth Cultural Council, Falmouth Gun Safety Coalition, Falun Dafa Association of New England, No Place for Hate Falmouth, and the Woods Hole Cantata Consort.

Food vendors include Mad Good Cookie, SeaScoops Ice Cream, and The Wild Game Sausage Man.
